Chris’ Bio
Chris was born and raised on a farm in northeastern Montana. He has worked as a network and cybersecurity engineer and architect for the last 25+ years residing in Colorado.
He’d be introduced to computer technology at a very young age, little did he know where it would take him. In his mid 20’s he suffered a construction accident which took him out of farming and launched his career in IT. After a several years in application, desktop, and server support. He then moved into Wide Area Networking, mostly route and switch troubleshooting on a globally distributed network, with a tiny bit of security tossed into the mix.
The next phase was working for a large TV provider, a direct tv service, the initial task again was focused on engineering a routing and switching network to support High Definition which was newly emerging at the time. He discovered that the company hadn’t instituted many security tools, even if they’d already purchased them. Chris took this as a challenge and instituted a host of security architectures providing security where there was little or none before. This is what launched him into pursuing cybersecurity as a career.
